As we begin to prep for the new year, I wanted teachers and students to be able to access the Human Imprint’s Illustrated Primer to Human Geography more easily than in the past. I created a dedicated and organized TABLE OF CONTENTS for each page of the primer. Each page is linked to the original artwork on the IllustratedTextbook website. Over the years, I’ve grown opposed to calling it a textbook, and now a proponent of the word “primer”. Maybe one day I will get the domain name changed.

In addition, I’ve created an ad-free option for the AP Human Geography Course Preview and Course Introduction. You can find download them here for free.

I like to give these pages to my students in the first week of school to give them an idea of what’s to come and answer the most important question, WHAT IS HUMAN GEOGRAPHY ABOUT?!?

If my district offered bootcamps as an option, I would tackle the primer in the summer. It would be a great way to get students thinking about the Why of Where, and I would use it as a framework to do other enrichment projects. You will find that the unit is divided into the FIVE THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY, and highlights the fundamentals and key principles of Human Geography.

I originally began this project in 2011 and began posting illustrated pages in 2017. I was finally able to finish the primer in late 2019. Because of wonky page sizes and my inexperience with printing, I will be offering this as electronic PDFs that you can get ad-free. These are posted for sale on my TpT site, though always free to view on the website. There will be a sale coming soon, so interested parties can preview the introduction in the meantime, and preview the rest of the text. I would also always advise that you ask your schools first if they can foot any classroom resource bill.

Unit 1 needed to be distributed into five separate sections due to their size (almost 2 GB), though I do have a bundle available.

With that being said, I have the entire course written and ready to go, but illustrating it takes a massive amount of time. So after I completed the primer, I decided to tackle new illustrated pages by topic where I can push out in manageable 4-6 page chunks at a time.

In the meantime, good luck prepping for the school year.
