Thanks to a Facebook poster, Betsy Smalley for posting the original article. This is very relevant to all of us who teach Human Geography and teach all of the geographic models. Sometimes students (and teachers alike) don’t understand why we need to learn the models, and why there are always exceptions to the rules. This article does a great job explaining the purpose behind a model and why it is better left imperfect.
